How To Use Bisque Add-ons
Add-ons are SIMPLE for you & your clientele.
The customers attach their own bisque add-ons to their pieces, so there really is no additional work for you!
What’s needed to successfully attach bisque add-ons to other pieces of bisque:
Painted add-ons, painted piece of bisque to attach the add-ons to, and glue.
How To Attach:Customers first paint add-ons and then adhere the add-ons with white dimensional paint, i.e. French Dimensions or Elmer's glue, to a flat, horizontal surface. You dip & fire the same as your other bisque, just keep in mind when loading, that add-ons must be on a horizontal surface, i.e. parallel to the kiln shelf, to fire them attached to a piece. To adhere add-ons to a vertical surface, customers first paint the add-dons, then dip and fire each piece individually. Once fired, adhere the add-ons using a glue, such as E6000 or 527.
Should you have any problems with adhering add-ons, feel free to contact us any time. We recommend using Elmer's glue when attaching add-ons to horizontal pieces. It tends to hold a little better in the dipping process. Just make sure that the glue is contained under the add-ons. Once fired, the glue will burn off and the add-ons will fuse to the base piece. The best way to get add-ons to hold best is to use a large "glob" of glue on the middle of the add-on, enough glue that when the items are put together the glue is touching both pieces. Also make sure that the pieces are thoroughly dry before dipping. Otherwise, the add-ons can fall off in your glaze tank.
Our Add-ons can easily be made into MAGNETS or ORNAMENTS.
You can add magnets to your order for
just 20¢ & 30¢ each, sold by the dozen.
Some
add-ons also make wonderful
ornaments. These add-ons are marked throughout our catalog with a
separate item number to order it as an ornament. There is no
additional cost for an add-on to be made into an ornament.
Remember, all add-ons have a design on one side and this also applies
to our ornaments.
